Vol. III
To Rest
I seek much rest in empty spaces
Why is this world so full of places
That promise peace and satisfaction
Only to end in worse retraction
I seek to feel, love, and know
And experience what those can bestow
But drive of stomach, lust, and mind
Threaten to topple what I can find
The path of life defined by choices
A chorus of competing voices
Turning us to the real or not
Leaving us to either thrive or rot
We all seek rest but how it’s sown
Is forged by where the heart calls home
And if it be with God Creator
We can find rest in His good nature.
